Discussing the future of EU media

The European Parliament currently hosts the European Youth Media Days, a forum of 270 young Europeans who discuss the future of European media and EU policy communication.

They also have a blog, reporting directly from the event:

Jean Quatremer of French daily Libération said that online blogs of Brussels correspondents could be a solution to the "space" problem for "European" stories in national media.

Regarding the quality of the institutional press services the European Parliament's one gets off fairly well, while the Commissions spokesman service is described as “a war machine, a propaganda machine.”" :-)
