The European Commission has a new blogger
Stavros Dimas, European Commissioner for Environment has started his own blog. This makes a total of 5 Commissioners who joined the blogosphere so far.
Time to look on their blogs to see how often they write on it. You can see the results in the following table.
| Commissioner | Topic area | Number of posts in 2007 |
| Margot Wallström | Communication | 49 |
| Janez Potocnik | Research | 17 |
| Vladimír Spidla | Employment / Social affirs | 17 |
| Mariann Fischer Boel | Agriculture | 14 |
| Stavros Dimas | Environment | 1 (new blog) |
The figures show that, on average, the Commissioners blog about every two to three weeks. With the exception of the Commissioner for Communication, Margot Wallström, who posts a new article more or less every 5 days.
While the fact that Commissioners have their own blogs is already positive, their blog posts certainly have to become more frequent .... and sometimes also more interesting :-)
