A new online media for Brussels?
Today on Eurobrussels, the leading job site for Brussels' international job market, features a job ad for an "Junior Internet Marketing Consultant". Nothing special one could say. But let's look at it in more detail.
In fact, the company looking for this consultant is only described with "Online European Affairs / Expat Media". The email address given for sending CVs is BrusselsMedia@gmail.com - we think this is a nice name :-)
So, while I can already reveal that this blog is not developing into a European Affairs / Expat Media, let's look what we can tell from the content of the job ad.
- It is a new venture: the Gmail address indicates that there's not much to see yet and the publisher wants to stay anonymous.
- It is about a web site focused on the European Union AND Expats: so potentially competing with The Bulletin and Expatica on the one hand and EurActiv, EUObserver and TheParliament.com on the other hand.
- It doesn't seem to be a big company: the job ad states "Must operate as independent" - no large media would employ an online sales manager as independent consultant.
- My guess is also that the company is run by a French man (or woman). Otherwise the requirement wouldn't be so clearly "fluent in English, French" :-)

Now the ad changed slightly...and it is not quite a new online media, it is eurobrussels...
